Mammography
Mammography is important in the detection of breast disease.
If you are experiencing symptoms such as a lump, pain or nipple discharge a mammogram may be recommended as part of 3fivetwo one stop breast clinic.
Mammography is also used as a screening tool to detect early breast cancer in women experiencing no symptoms over the age of 40.
The examination process should take about 20 minutes. The radiologist may recommend further diagnostic studies such as ultrasound or biopsy following your mammogram.
Please note that breast implants can impede accurate mammogram readings. Please inform us if you have breast implants when making an appointment for a mammogram.
