Genetics
Many people are concerned about their family's medical history, such as bowel, breast and ovarian cancer. Assessment of the risk level allows patients to be matched with the most appropriate screening programme, increases the chance of early diagnosis and provides general advice about how to decrease their own personal risk factors.
3fivetwo have recently introduced a Private Clinical Genetics service in conjunction with local Consultants. The clinic which is based at the 3fivetwo Medical Imaging and Screening centre caters for the entire range of genetic conditions, although there is a special interest in dealing with families where there is a history of cancer related ilnesses.
Typically, a consultation with a Clinical Geneticist will last upwards of an hour and will involve detailed medical and family history. You may be referred for individually tailored tests and examinations. Further discussion may be required, where an individual care management plan will be developed.
